Larger than life, elite and luxurious, Indian Grill Room is one place that takes you to a new land of luxury. All smitten by the ambience and the decor, We took tons of picture of the restaurant itself. The place was not only a good restaurant but a nicely done place. If you choose a restaurant by the looks first then take a look here.</p>
<p>The PDR seemed a very nice choice for formal business meetings. The Indian Grill Room was not a very jazzy place, which was good considering every restaurant is in a want to turn itself into a lounge or something near to that. The place was simple and yet very larger than life.</p>
<p>The Food, the have a buffet with some great delicacies and a price that will make you run to the place. You cannnot even image the price at which you would be offered that amazing buffet. Have a look here itself.</p>

<div style="text-align: start;">A few days back I had attended a talk at the Delhi IIT and that is making me write this piece. Firstly the talk was extremely motivation. Any and every budding entrepreneur should have been there. The speakers shared their experience of nurturing start ups and quite insightful informations about how to work in a competitive market. We also got to know about a competition for skilled entrepreneurs and I am sharing some information about the same. Give it a try if you like the idea.</div>
<p align="center"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></p>
<p><strong>Purpose of the competition:</strong></p>
<p>In pursuance of its vision objective of 500 million technically skilled work-force by the year 2022, India@75 and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in 2011, conceptualized a Skills Enterprise Plan Competition (SEPC) under the name “Power To Empower” to sensitize the youth and encourage entrepreneurship in the skill space as a viable business proposition.</p>
<p>In the first year, SEPC was conducted for the selected management, technology and sector specific institutions/colleges. However, the second edition of the P2E- 2012 competition will reach out to grass-root entrepreneurs to enable them in scaling up their businesses and for students to understand the opportunity and potential in the skill eco system.</p>
<p>The competition was planned to be rolled out in the coming years in three phases as indicated below:</p>
<p><strong>Process of the competition:</strong></p>
<p>The phase one was launched in 2011. For the present phase 2 of the competition this year, it will be conducted in two categories namely Entrepreneurs and Students. The competition will be divided in three stages:</p>
<ol start="1">
<li>Idea stage</li>
<li>Plan stage</li>
<li>Final presentation stage</li>
</ol>
<p>In order to encourage larger participation and spread the word about “<em>Skills as a business opportunity</em>”, we have planned for an idea stage where everyone is welcome to send an entry. Also, to ensure an even representation from all over India we will have a winner from each of the six regions i.e. North, South, East, West, Central and North East besides an all India winner.</p>
<p>We will then be inviting entries for the plan stage. This stage is independent of idea stage; it is not necessary that a participant from idea stage can only be part of the plan stage. Everyone — students and entrepreneurs — is invited to participate. Entries received will be evaluated and selected entries will be provided mentors.</p>
<p>These mentors will support them in writing a more focussed business plan. Approximately a month is provided to the participants to complete the plans. These plans will once again be evaluated twice by two different evaluators (for reducing subjectivity) and their consolidated average will be taken into consideration for selection to the final stage.</p>
<p>The finalists will be provided further mentoring to make their plans more concrete and convert them into a crisp presentation. This presentation will be made to an eminent jury comprising representation from government, industry and venture capitalists. The winners will be awarded with cash prize, seed funding, and incubation support.</p>
<p><strong>Power To Empower 2011: An Overview</strong></p>
<p>Phase 1 of the competition was launched last year on 12 July. The competition took off with NSDC and India@75 as a co-organizer, Ernst&amp; Young as process partner and ISB as knowledge partner. We had reached out to 39 premier colleges in the country and almost 4000 college students across India. These 39 colleges comprised Engineering colleges, Undergraduate/ Graduate colleges, sector-specific and MBA institutes. The competition had three rounds of evaluation and two rounds of mentoring. We had limited the participation to the colleges where we had organized the roadshows.</p>

<li>Most Innovative Plan</li>

<p>I am sharing the overview of the initiative and the overview because it all seemed very motivation to me. The competition is a great boost to college students and young entrepreneurs to give wings to thei ideas. This would also serve as a platform to present your ideas in front of people who know what lies behind setting up those big industries. <p>Well, this not any other food review that I am writing because this one also speaks a lot about the place. To everyone who has been there, knows why I am saying so. Route 04 represents the love for all things American. The ambience, the food and everything that your eyes can see shout, “American” in every way.</p>
<p>I have been at Route 04 many times, in fact we have actually conducted a lot of Cupid speaks brainstorming sessions there but this time we were actually there for a tasting session. If you know me, you would know what was I judging their food on, “Pasta” and but there was big table laid in front for the tasting session.</p>

<p>Ambience: Cool and casual</p>
<p>Food: You need to read about that down</p>
<p>Mocktails: Amazing (like totally amazing)</p>
<p>Return Value: 90%</p>
<p>Money Value: 80%</p>
<p>About the food what we loved first was the presentation! For a person like me, I only put something that my eyes like in my plate. Everything presented there was 100% perfect in terms of presentation. That is something that creates a wow factor to someone who loves food. I liked the starters a lot. They were light and all served CRISPY!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I liked the Pasta, (Penne Arabiata). Served hot! One problem that I often find in pastas at places is that they do not put adequate salt (not according to my taste atleast). Finally, at Route 04 the pasta was something that I liked.  Coming to something, we actually talked a lot about; the pizzas that were served. We had ordered for a vegie pizza and we saw a big (really big) pizza plate put forth us. It was crisp and thin crust, like really thin. (during the food review, we actually ate the pizza late and so it had gotten soggy but I regularly dine at Route 04 and know that they serve a crisp Pizza)</p>
<p>The pizza was big. Considering that I have a rat’s appetite, it was big for me and my friend. We actually suggested them to actually have a regular and a large size Pizza in their menu. We also then got to know that they had a unique way of serving pizzas (you can use this if you go there with friends) You can order two half pizzas (a veg and a non-veg) and get them on the same platter, as one. So you actually get two tastes on one. This is something that you can try out (save money!)</p>

<p>Ans: Badhai.in started in August 2011. The company is still at infancy. We are experiencing good<br />
traction from the market and getting nice reviews from users as well as media.</p>
<p>4. What triggered you to start this venture?</p>
<p>Ans: In India, gifting goes with tradition. But there were certain problems, when it comes to gifting</p>
<p>which Badhai.in trying to solve</p>
<p>1) Gift sender must not be worried about the choice. Choice should be with the recipient.<br />
2) Gift should be sent in quick steps rather than wasting hours in finding a gift, which might not<br />
fit into recipient scheme of things<br />
3) Gifting across geographies should be instantaneous, without hassle<br />
4) Partial contribution for a gift should be acknowledged.<br />
5) Pooling for a gift or group gift</p>
<p>Also integrating it with Facebook allows us to track gifting occasions closely.</p>
<p>5. Tell us more about your idea and your vision.</p>
<p>Ans: Badhai.in allows sender to gift a Badhai voucher over Email and SMS to recipient.<br />
Recipient can then choose to shop with leading retail brands, Badhai.in has tied up with. This<br />
gives sender a convenience while sending a gift, because you can send a gift with Badhai.in<br />
in less than 2 minutes. And recipient can choose a brand or multiple brands to spend the<br />
gift amount. We are trying to make this entire experience seamless by making it instant and<br />
paperless. So in future, while on the go if you like to shop at Croma, you can generate a<br />
voucher and shop.</p>
<p>6. Tell us a bit more about yourself and your team.</p>
<p>Ans; I’m graduate from IIT Kanpur and this is my second venture. Other team members also<br />
are Graduate from IIT K and IIM Calcutta.</p>
<p>7. Tell us more on why you chose this name for the portal?</p>
<p>Ans: We were always looking for something which connotes the celebration. Badhai is the<br />
name which we use in day to day world while celebrating or congratulating. Also the recall<br />
value for Badhai is very high.</p>
<p>8. What do you feel about the power of youth and social media in the industry?</p>
<p>Ans: Social media is growing well in India. With so many network and accessibility through<br />
Web as well as mobile, we see a growing market. Though converting social media fans to<br />
business is still a challenge worldwide for brands.</p>
<p>9. What are Sector specific challenges that you face.</p>
<p>Ans: The sector is still at a nascent stage and will take couple of years to pick up. As of now<br />
it is challenging to bring audience online for gifting.</p>
<p>10. How are you different from your competitors?</p>
<p>Ans: We are not voucher reseller and that makes a huge difference in terms of offerings and<br />
core business potential.</p>
<p>11. What would you like to say to budding entrepreneurs<br />
Ans: Do not give up easily while following your dreams.</p>

Ans: We have leading retailers like Croma, Lifestyle Pantaloons, Big Bazaar as well as online ones<br />

<p>15. How do you ensure that your website reaches the correct Audience?<br />
Ans: Our audience is urban and semi urban middle class who uses internet, comfortable in online<br />
shopping and constraint with time/resources. We are mostly relying on internet to spread our brand<br />
because our target audience is net savvy.</p>
<p>16. Facebook Ads or Google adwords. What do you prefer more?<br />
Ans: We are focussing on both. Facebook is more useful in terms of brand visibility, while Google is<br />
good for conversion.</p>
<p>17. Is Social Media the king?</p>
<p>Ans: Yes it is. The medium is quick, cost effective and interactive. With more and more people<br />
joining networks and coming online, social media is going to rule the next century.</p>

<p>2. Where are you based?</p>
<p>We are based out of New Delhi. But, the nature of the online education portal allows<br />
us to serve students from all across the country. All they have to do to register is simply<br />
enroll through filling up a form, pay the fee and login to start studying.</p>
<p>3. When was the venture started and how are the initial days of it?</p>
<p>We started six months back and the initial days were all about development. We<br />
wanted to ensure that the site is 100% ready for the students and that the courses<br />
content is up-to-the-minute. We keep updating the courses every now and then.</p>
<p>Besides the site development, the initial days have been about team-building and<br />
setting up the various small but relevant processes that have enabled this venture to<br />
take-off.</p>
<p>4. What triggered you to start this venture?</p>
<p>There aren’t many platforms available online that are credible when it comes to<br />
providing online education through short-term programs in social media marketing<br />
and digital marketing. The model is based on online learning by the student that is<br />
accompanied by downloadable video sessions by industry stalwarts, which is a USP for<br />
us.</p>
<p>5. Tell us more about your idea and your vision.</p>
<p>The best lecturers in the world are delivering quality education online. There is no<br />
reason why anyone should be deprived of a learning opportunity because they are not<br />
able to make it to the classroom due to time or any other constraint. This is one major<br />
reason why I decided to price the courses very low just so they aren’t too hard on the<br />
pocket. The basic course in social media marketing is priced at Rs. 3,499/-.</p>
<p>6. Tell us a bit more about yourself and your team</p>
<p>I am fortunate to be working with an absolutely brilliant core-team that comes from<br />
pretty diverse backgrounds. There’s Natasha Puri, who has work experience in the<br />
media and publishing industry. There are a few people who are working on online<br />
marketing and promotions. And, there’s this creative genius named Guneet Narula, who<br />
has immaculate experience in the online web development and management domain.<br />
We’ve got the faculty from the industry who are working day in and day out to produce<br />
excellent students through un-matched course content.</p>
<p>7. What is the market size you are trying to capture?</p>
<p>The target audience for WSMeducation.in is between 18-30 years of age that comprises<br />
students as well as working professionals looking to add new media marketing know-<br />
how to their skill-sets.</p>
<p>The online education industry in India is expected to grow at a rate of 30-35% and the<br />
possibilities are endless. The market is huge and even if tomorrow there are 20 players,<br />
there’ll be enough for everyone to survive and prosper.</p>
<p>8. What do you feel about the power of youth and social media in the industry?</p>
<p>It is unquestionably the next big thing to watch out for. It’s remarkable how quickly an<br />
event starts trending on twitter, how the youth is not afraid to express their opinion. It<br />
is the youth that truly knows how to make the most of the freedom of speech and social<br />
media acts as the perfect medium.</p>
<p>9. What are Sector specific challenges that you face.</p>
<p>The biggest challenge was to introduce the online-learning mechanism to students and<br />
ensure they do not become disillusioned over a period of time. We have been able to<br />
overcome this by introducing the downloadable video interactive sessions and providing<br />
unlimited telephonic doubt-clearing support to students. Each chapter page on the<br />
site also has a discussion forum at the bottom where students can interact with other<br />
learners and the course mentors.</p>
<p>10. How are you different from your competitors?</p>
<p>There is absolutely no other competitor offering industry interactions (online) to go with<br />
the online course moderation. We also visit management colleges across the country<br />
to conduct sessions on Social Media Marketing and the career prospects in the industry<br />
and offer bulk registrations to the institutions.</p>
<p>In the future, we plan to stay ahead of all the rest through regularly updated courses.<br />
Also, we want our customer service to be un-matched.</p>
<p>11. What would you like to say to budding entrepreneurs</p>
<p>The most important aspect of launching your own venture is to be sure of the industry<br />
you are targeting. You will survive and thrive only if you know the industry inside-out.<br />
Also, the biggest challenge, that quite possibly will always remain is putting together a<br />
strong team of individuals who are willing to sacrifice and put in as much effort as you.</p>
<p>12. Are you using the power of Social Media to reach out to a wider audience?</p>
<p>Absolutely. As a website offering online courses, it would be a cardinal sin to ignore<br />
social media. The initial registrations that we relieved were through our Facebook page.<br />
Our twitter handle is also very active @wsmtweets.</p>
<p>13. How do you connect with the people?</p>

<p>14. Do you think that online education is going to make a big impact on the education<br />
scenario?</p>
<p>Classroom learning is no longer restricted to the classroom. You have Harvard and MIT<br />
joining hands to launch ‘EdX’, ventures like skillkindle.com that is a favourite. There are<br />
also portals offering online MBAs. With new jobs opening up in sectors like social media<br />
marketing (approximately 12,000 new jobs in 2012 alone), there is reason for a student<br />
to have the want to know more, to be special.</p>
<p>15. Are tablets going to replace books and classroom studies totally in the near future?</p>
<p>Yes, it is a certainty. But, I don’t see it happening in the near future.</p>

On the 17<sup>th</sup> Delhi was on a high as it hosted the the <a href="http://www.pepsichangethegame.com/">Pepsi T20 Football Grand Finale</a>. An event as grand as it could have got!! This event was Grand in all aspects. From the matches to the celebrities, it was one day full of stars.</p>
<p>Nikhil Chinapa kick started the event with a bang. He introduced the heartthrob and celeb cricketer, Virat Kohli and the hearts of all the girls around pumped even faster. Eight teams competed at the Grand Finale for the title of the Pepsi T20 Football Championship. These matches included seven teams from seven cities and one wild card entry. These in cage matches were a fabulous sight to watch.</p>
<p>Apart from all the celebrities and all the exciting stuff going on there were also special characters there to interact with the crowd. They were Mr. Bhukkad, Bak Baki Betty, Delhi Bwoy and Daring Diana. They, with all their quirkiness entertained the audiences. Their craziness added to the star list of the day and the audiences got the chance to interact with them too.</p>
<p>Every goal and kick and made the crowd road and cheer up their throats to their last pitch. We could see Football enthusiasts waving off their T-shirts and shouting to the looks of Drogba.</p>
<p>The event saw Harbhajan Singh, Baichung Bhutia, Ranbeer Kapoor, Dhoni and their presence made the crowd go mad.  All the eight teams competed to their best till the game got the final two teams. The Champions of the Pepsi T20 Football Grand Finale were SGC Delhi and Delhi cheered even louder to see their own team win.</p>
<p>Highlights for the event apart from Dogba itself were the mesmerizing performance by Sivamani and the drummers. Nearing the Finale of the event, the Celebrity exhibition match took place and that was a match which made the crowd go mad.</p>
<p>It was one big shining day that Delhi Recently saw. So, Pepsi finally changed the Game and in style.<a href="http://cupidspeaks.com/pepsi-change-the-game/drogba/" rel="attachment wp-att-17578"><br />

<p>Welcome to the world of chilling summers but the adult way. On <strong>May 28</strong> <strong>Netra Parikh, Amit Dang, Ravikant Potdar and me (Nikhil Kashyap)</strong> set flew from various cities to Dil waalo di Delhi to set out on your road trip in North. Yup we were all set to unlock our &#8216;khushiyon ki chaabi&#8217;, embrace the mountains driving in a Nano. In the last 15 days we have driven through Patiala, Hoshiarpur, McLeodganj (Dharamshala), Palampur, Kullu, Manali and Shimla. We are now in the last leg of our roadtrip and are now heading towards Kufri.</p>
<p>We just have a week for our &#8216;garmi ki chuttiyan&#8217; to end and then its back to the big bad world or corporate living. For now we living the moment.</p>
