Everybody Loves A Decoy

Celebrities FlauntingIt was about wearing the shortest of skirts and flaunting the longest of legs, to be the hottest of the babes in the biggest of the towns, to have the most number of men, and to spend the least time with them, to be the prettiest, chunkiest and the next big thing after Angelina Jolie herself, secretly my friend would say. This was only the transitory phase than to cross the lines of childhood. The pace of change is picking up and is now more to do with people who have cultural status who when start to wear new or different clothes a fashion trend may start. People who like or respect them may start to wear clothes of a similar style.

Kate Middleton, the new Duchess of Cambridge, wore an extraordinary but yet simple gown of white and ivory satin gazar and designed to emulate an opening flower, the gown featured a lace-adorned bodice inspired by Victorian corsetry – a classic McQueen work, a plunging neckline, long sleeves, and a train of more than nine cascading feet keeping it quite symbolic to the time-honoured traditions. This marked the truly extraordinary lace work setting yet another fashion enigma. With the swinging sixties, came the mini skirt send out by Mary Quant. Not very long after that came the midi and the maxi, most people attributing to it simply that mini skirts were getting so short that “they had no where else to go”.Based on the recent sightings the mixi dress has now entered the fray. Short mini-skirt like in the front, with a floor sweeping hemline at the back, a mixi dress has the best of both worlds. What better person to make headlines with it than the famous Lady Gaga striking a pose at the 2011 CDFA.

Fashion for the youth of today has become a social statement. It goes out to their peers and the rest in the form of expression and particularly a sense of identity. Most strikingly among the youth today are the low-waist jeans signaling a look at their personality. They know it all from shorts to trousers, to the perfect fashion style the low waist jeans with a contrasting shade T-shirt tucked inside. So guys have a clear idea as to what would suit them and can also disguise their bad body features and are not just lured by styling or designing of apparel

Fashion sometimes promotes jealousy and rebellion; this comes out in the sense of styling where they do exactly the opposite as a result of shout down by parents. It’s not just the clothes but the accessories like the retro-sunglasses, jewels, watch, and the footwear that the teenagers are mostly conscious of possessing so as to stand out.It is most evident with fashion the statement “What Goes Around, Comes Back Around”.
