How To Impress Your Boss and Be His Favorite

Most of us work or will eventually work in corporate, there is one word which means a lot in any industry BOSS, means you immediate senior. Every boss has his pick in his team like a set of his favorite people who he favors time to time, they get to enjoy all the privileges in the office like extra break, time-outs, team manning and many more. Most of the people wants to be apple of the boss’s eye, but most of us do not know how? It is not that difficult after all you don’t need to be a sycophant ; its all about maintaining good relationships with you superior.

So here are some tips which may help you to be that “Blue eyed boy” in the office:

• Impress the Boss with Hard work and Dedication:

It’s the key to that special place in your boss’s eyes. You really need to be good with what you do. Firstly, if you are given a task and a deadline make sure that work is finished before or on that time. Secondly, show some dedication but don’t go overboard with that you Boss might not like that but a controlled aggression and dedication in your work will surely be appreciated.

•  Loyalty and Discipline woes Bosses:

Be loyal to your own boss; you can’t crib about your boss infront of some other people in your office and can get away with that because your office howsoever big is still a small place and people talk there, so sooner or later your boss will come to know of what you spoke about him and he can make you life really pathetic.

Always dress in a proper manner as per the code in the office, don’t be too shiny in the office. Make a subtle but firm presence in the office so that you are noticed but you aren’t highlighted. Don’t ever be late to work, even in case you are getting late call up your boss and tell him the reason he will appreciate that.

• Team Player is always a Boss Player

Be a team player in the office, most of us work in teams and we need to show that extra quality of taking the team alongside because that creates the first step towards the success or your promotion. Have a good equation with all the team member, never get indulged in an argument in the office that adds to you negative image.

• Flexibility is all it takes

Be flexible with your work at the same time don’t give in to everything your boss says, make your point but in a manner that it shouldn’t hurt you boss’s ego and he will surely give your opinion a thought. At times be fun at work but again don’t overdo it, keep people around you happy in whatever manner you can be is flirting, getting them donuts, chocolates or whatever.

• Do not break the Chain of Command, Follow The Boss

Never ever break the chain of command because that can piss off your boss like nothing else. This is one thing you really need to take care of even if you have problems with your boss or your relationship is a little tensed still discuss things with him first and them approach his senior as a last resort.

Afterall the most important person who can help in the growth of one’s career in a desired way is the “Boss”. Your boss can do much more than any qualification can do for you. He is the person who represents you in front of the management. Whatever he says, good or bad about you definitely has an effect on your career succession within and outside the organization. So why not keep our boss happy?
