Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2012

The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is an annual celebration of dance, music and other art forms.
The festival is being held every year since 1999 in the month of February at Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. The Kala Ghoda Association hosts the weeklong Kala Ghoda Arts Festival.
The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is named after the black equestrian statue of Edward VII that used to stand in the Fort area of Mumbai.
The festival features Gallery and pavement shows, exhibitions of paintings and sculptures, literary events, film screenings, music concerts, dance performances, theatre shows, workshops, heritage walks and food fiesta

THE BRAND AMBASSADOR reflects the state -of- the- art (read state-of-the-artists) where every cell of the body is screaming “MAKE ME FAMOUS” – The desire that never meets a verbal expression. This psychological censor builds up the ideas that crave for attention giving rise to psychosomatic cancerous expression called THE BRAND which permeates into the body of art and creates multiplicity to survive.

Cigarette buds stubbed on a bed of bones is a vision of a human body turned in to an Ash Tray.

Think Blue!
An installation dedicated to the iconic Volkswagen Beetle. An art-piece, created out of scrap collected from various Think Blue clean-up drives undertaken by Volkswagen at different locations.
This resulted in the Beetle installation. A whole new meaning to the lifeless objects.

This artpiece is made of disposed scrap. It propagates a resource-efficient, climate- and eco-friendly way of living. How to explore savings potential, efficient driving and green-minded actions.

The most important communication tool of our times is “Chat”.. whether it is in an online forum, on facebook or a micro blogging network.
his installation brings alive the idea of expressing the short conversations popularly called as Chat Lingos. Each lingo is expressed through handmade and painted denims pieces with unique typography.

Submerged is an art installation that depicts the symbolic drowning process, where each of us is slowly sinking along with our rich heritage, ecological system and animal kingdom.
This installation acts as a reminder of the importance of a thriving eco-system – which is essential to human survival
Fight Under-Nourishment. Little by Little.
500-700 spoons form a large chime that interacts with the breeze to create a sound installation.
Many little spoons of the chimes juxtaposed against the floor graphics convey the message of ‘little by little’ and making its viewers aware of the need to nourish.
A towering pyramid made out of hundreds of glasses used for your daily cup of chai.
