Soulmate

Letter to My Soulmate Dear Soulmate,

Before I rub the sleep from my eyes and wait for mum to shovel my breakfast, there’s something I must tell you.”How are the girls in all those crappy soaps or movies so amazingly good?”Are you something to be read only in novels and to be shown in the movies? Though I find the concept alien, I know you are somewhere out there running around with all the wrong guys.

I want to feel the pangs of joy, love and hatred. Time or tide nothing would be able to push us apart. I want you to stamp your foot, shout and taunt me, smack your lips when I settle the hair from your face. I want to close my eyes and wrap my arms around you. I promise I’ll love you and share all your feelings with every fibre of my being.

I have explored all the unflattering angles of myself and I need to stop labelling myself with tags such as cruel and needy. And for all this to happen I ‘ll be needing you by my side.Have I already met you? If yes, I hope you are crazy about me. Just let me know about your feelings. Yes, I did have floating feelings for someone. I know she didn’t feel quite the same about me. I kept thinking something could ‘happen’, but it didn’t, it won’t.

I just wish that you could tell me somehow and then we can sit down at a table by the window overlooking the sea and chat about our lives and about the manner of things we have missed out in all these years. If you are reading this, then please do write back. Till then I guess I’ll just have to wait it out.

Yours Lovingly,

Sourav
